Soulfly is an American heavy metal band formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997. Soulfly is led by former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera, who formed the band after he left the Brazilian group in 1996.

The following is the discography of Soulfly, an American metal band formed in 1997 by Max Cavalera after leaving Sepultura. The band's original lyrical content revolved around spirituality, political and religious themes, with later albums encompassing other themes including war, violence, aggression, slavery, hatred and anger.
Soulfly, the moniker Max conjured, is an original portmanteau like "Lookaway” or "Straighthate.” The idea rose from one of the indigenous spiritual practices that inspire Max. "Many South American tribes believe the souls of their ancestors fly around them when they play music.
Soulfly's twelfth album, Totem, will be released on August 5th, 2022 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Nov 29, 2022 · If you're a Soulfly fan living in the United States, then chances are they're coming your way early next year. The band led Max Cavalera have announced a gigantic slew of dates from late January to early April of 2023, which Soulfly are playing in support of their 2022 album, Totem.
Soulfly. After leaving Sepultura in 1996, Max Cavalera formed Soulfly with the idea of combined sounds and spiritual beliefs after losing his stepson Dana Wells. Originally, with each new Soulfly album came a new line-up, as well as world music influences from a diverse array of locations.
