   • The Butchers were a loyalist paramilitary group involved in the murders of Francis Crossen and Noel Shaw. Four days before Noel Shaw's death, Shaw had been involved in the abduction and murder of the Butchers' first victim, Francis Crossen. The Butchers were also involved in Shaw's murder, who was a loyalist from a rival UVF unit, having shot down Shaw in Downing Street, off the Shankill Road, in November 1975.
