Ryan Lake Park, in the far northwestern corner of the city, is among the newer properties in the Minneapolis park system. It was acquired from the City of Minneapolis by swapping land in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood (formerly known as Svea Triangle), which the city wanted for road realignment and stormwater management purposes.

Ryan Lake is a man-made Lake placed near King’s Walk Golf Course and is a fantastic place for kids to learn how to fish. There is pier to fish* off of and a picnic shelter in the area.

Jun 27, 2019 · After the 1980 eruption, Ryan Lake was left to recover naturally. And recover it has; almost back to a completely natural state, untouched by people. The trail apparently used to climb to a bluff overlooking the little lake.
