Steve J. Morse (born July 28, 1954) is an American guitarist, best known as the founder of the Dixie Dregs and as the guitarist for Deep Purple from 1994 to 2022. Morse has also enjoyed a successful solo career and was a member of the group Kansas in the mid-1980s.

Feb 6, 2024 · Steve Morse announced the death of his wife Janine, who passed away on February 4 after a long battle with Stage 4 cancer. He quit DEEP PURPLE in 2022 to care for her and will resume playing shows with his band in 2023.
