Big Head Todd and The Monsters is a rock band formed by Todd Mohr, Brian Nevin, and Rob Squires in 1986 in Colorado. The band has released several albums since 1989; their 1993 album Sister Sweetly went platinum in the United States.
Apr 15, 2015 · Before Big Head Todd, there was TJ and the Twist, the combo Nevin and bassist Rob Squires first played in at Columbine High School. When Mohr transferred to Columbine, he landed in the school’s jazz band with Nevin, and soon the three friends bonded over their shared love of classic rock, blues, and R&B grooves.
Mohr, bassist Rob Squires and drummer Brian Nevin formed Big Head Todd & the Monsters in 1987. The young band’s slightly jazzy, neo-1970s rock ‘n’ blues sound, fronted by Mohr’s strong writing, powerful vocals and charisma, started gaining steam.
