Hanover Zoo is located in the city centre, or Mitte borough, of Hanover, Germany. The zoo was established on 4 May 1865, and comprises an area of 22 hectares (54 acres). It contains about 3,414 animals in 237 species, which are cared for by more than 400 employees in the summer season.
Hannover-Zoo (also called Zooviertel, rarely called Hindenburgviertel) is a quarter of the city of Hanover. Located within the quarter is the eponymous Hanover Zoo, also known as the Hanover Zoological Gardens. Part of the borough Hanover-Mitte, it has 4,952 inhabitants (2020).
Loved this zoo, favourite animals, penguins, elephants and gorillas . Good setting & clean. Plenty of places to eat & drink. Downside was with the wasps, they were everywhere, even inside of the restaurants.
