Mount Victoria, also known as Matairangi and colloquially as Mt Vic, is a prominent 196-metre (643 ft) hill immediately to the east of central Wellington, New Zealand. About 4 kilometres due south is a spur named Mount Albert and the two are linked by a ridge.

Mount Victoria is a suburb which lies within the Territorial Authority of Wellington, one of 52 residential suburbs which form the wider region. Mount Victoria is the 17th largest suburb of Wellington in terms of the total number of residential housing stock.
The 4.5km walkway begins on Courtenay Pace. Wind your way up through turn-of-the-century Mount Victoria villas and historic pines to reach a lookout with panoramic city views. The climb through the town belt can be steep, but it’s definitely worth it for the view at the top.
Mount Victoria provides stunning 360 degree views of Wellington City, the harbour and the ocean to the south. Car and bus access is via Alexandra Road, while walking tracks lead from Oriental Parade and Majoribanks Street.
