Vicente Castelo Sotto III (Tagalog pronunciation:; born August 24, 1948), professionally known as Tito Sotto and also known as Tito Sen, is a Filipino politician, entertainer and athlete who served as Senate President from 2018 to 2022.
During his first term, Senator Vicente C. Sotto III served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader and Chairman of the Senate Committees on Local Government and Tourism. He also assumed the Chairmanship of the Senate Committees on Youth and Sports Development; Illegal Drugs; and Rural Development.
He was called the most persecuted man in the Senate, a recklessly impolite and inconvenient figure—but the grandfather of the now infamous “Tito Sen” was also indelibly identified with one cause: press freedom.
