Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado (Spanish pronunciation: [miˈɣel de la maˈðɾið uɾˈtaðo]; 12 December 1934 – 1 April 2012) was a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who served as the 59th president of Mexico from 1982 to 1988.
Miguel de la Madrid (born December 12, 1934, Colima, Mexico—died April 1, 2012, Mexico City) was the president of Mexico from 1982 to 1988. Miguel de la Madrid received a degree in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City in 1957 and a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University in 1965.
