Addison Graves "Joe" Wilson Sr. (born July 31, 1947) is an American politician and attorney serving as the U.S. representative for South Carolina's 2nd congressional district since 2001. A member of the Republican Party, his district stretches from Columbia to the Georgia–South Carolina border.
Joe is the Chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, also known as the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe. Since the 111th Congress, he has been appointed to the highly influential Republican Policy Committee. Joe chairs the Republican Study Committee's National Security and Foreign Affairs Task Force for the 118th Congress.
Extensive Biography. Joe Wilson was elected to the US House of Representatives on behalf of the people of the Second District of South Carolina on December 18, 2001. The very next day on the 19th, he was sworn in during a ceremony at the Capitol.
