- Rinconada Canyon
Petroglyph National Monument stretches 17 miles (27 km) along Albuquerque, New Mexico 's West Mesa, a volcanic basalt escarpment that dominates the city's western horizon. Authorized June 27, 1990, the 7,236 acres (2,928 ha) monument is cooperatively managed by the National Park Service and the City of Albuquerque.

As the name suggest, Petroglyph National Monument preserves petroglyphs carved in the rock. If you enjoy hiking, this is a great site. If you don't, this is probably not the site for you, as hiking is pretty much the only activity at the site and the only way to view the petroglyphs. I took a short walk to the top of a hill.
