Nichols Arboretum, locally known as the Arb,: 22 is an arboretum on the campus of the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Arb is located adjacent to the Huron River, and features over 400 species, including 110 species of trees, in a varied, hilly landscape.
Throughout Nichols Arboretum, called the "Arb" by locals and students and located near the University of Michigan''s central campus, you'll find many special places. The Arb has extensive but dispersed collections of native and exotic trees and shrubs masterfully crafted into a naturalistic landscape begun by O. C. Simonds in 1907.
