Proceed to Beverly Canyon Trail. Beverly Canyon Trail will have some short rocky and steep areas that cross the Pima Canyon area on the way to meeting the Desert Classic Trail on the south side of South Mountain. Distance: 1.7 mi. Elevation Change: 250 ft.
At over 16,000 acres, South Mountain Park and Preserve is one of the largest municipal parks in the country. Start a visit at the South Mountain Environmental Education Center, hike, bike and ride more than 58 miles of trails, or follow the road to the top of the mountain for spectacular views.
Beautiful city park with lots of scenery on the valley floor and mind blowing views from the top of the mountain. Narrow, twisty road to the top, but highly worth the effort. There are multiple overlooks and take the time to visit them all for views to the north (city) and south. Read more.
