The Avon River / Ōtākaro ( / ˈeɪvən / and / ˈɔːtɑːkɑːrɔː /) ( Māori: [ ɔːtaːkaɾɔ ]) flows through the centre of the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, and out to an estuary, which it shares with the Ōpāwaho / Heathcote River, the Avon Heathcote Estuary / Ihutai.
