Biography Eldest daughter of Victor Amadeus III of Savoy. Marrried Louis Stanislas Xavier, Comte of Provence (and future Louis XVIII) in 1771; in 1791 fled France with her husband and lived in exile in Germany and in Russia; when Louis XVII died in prison (1795) her husband was proclaimed King of France and she became Queen consort of France, at least nominally.
