Dorothea Hedwig of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Dorothea von Anhalt-Zerbst (25 September 1607, Zerbst – 26 September 1634, Hitzacker) was a member of the House of Askanier and a princess of Anhalt-Zerbst and Duchess of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel by marriage to Augustus the Younger .
Dorothea Hedwig of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel (1587–1609) Princess of Anhalt-Zerbst. Born on February 3, 1587; died on October 16, 1609; daughter of Dorothea of Saxony (1563–1587) and Henry Julius, duke of Brunswick (r. 1589–1613); married Rudolf, prince of Anhalt-Zerbst, on December 29, 1605.
Anhalt-Zerbst was a principality of the Holy Roman Empire ruled by the House of Ascania, with its residence at Zerbst in present-day Saxony-Anhalt. It emerged as a subdivision of the Principality of Anhalt from 1252 until 1396, when it was divided into the principalities of Anhalt-Dessau and Anhalt-Köthen.
Dorothea Hedwig married on 29 December 1605 in Wolfenbüttel to Prince Rudolf von Anhalt-Zerbst (1576–1621). She died while giving birth to her fourth child, a still-born princess who was born an hour after the mother's death. The Princess was buried in the Bartholomai Church in Zerbst. [1]

Dorothea of Anhalt-Zerbst, wife of August of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel, owned two emblem books, both preserved today at the Herzog August Bibliothek, that were customized for her as Stammbücher, or alba amicorum, and given to her as a child.
