Gilbert, Duke of Lorraine. Gilbert (or Giselbert) (c. 890 – 2 October 939) was son of Reginar and the brother-in-law of the Ottonian emperor, Otto I. He was duke of Lotharingia (or Lorraine) until 939. Gilbert was also lay abbot of Echternach, Stablo-Malmedy, St Servatius of Maastricht, and St Maximin of Trier.

He became duke of Lorraine sometime after Reginar's death in 915, possibly as late as 928. In 925, he pledged fealty to King Henry the Fowler (Heinrich I) of Germany and married his daughter, Gerberga (Gerberge) of Saxony abt. 929/930.
