- Our School
St Mungo's Academy is a Roman Catholic, co-educational, comprehensive, secondary school located in Gallowgate, Glasgow. The school was founded in 1858 by the Marist Brothers religious order. The debate team at St Mungo's were the first Scottish team to represent the UK at the World Parliamentary Debate Competition, which they won.

St Mungo's Academy was founded by the Marist Brothers in 1858 to educate poor Catholic boys, largely Irish immigrants in the East End of the City. The Marist Brothers is an international religious institute established in 1817 by St Marcellin Champagnat, a Marist priest from France.
Glasgow City Archives, Department of Education. St Mungo's Academy on Parson Street in Townhead, 1970s. In 1858 Marist Brothers founded a boys school on Glebe Street before opening a fee charging establishment in their own residence at 96 Garngad Hill.
