Created and produced by Dick Wolf and developed by Blake Masters, it premiered on NBC on September 29, 2010, as the fifth series in Wolf's Law & Order franchise.
Law & Order: LA (originally Law & Order: Los Angeles before April 11, 2011) is the fifth spin-off of Law & Order. The show is the second Law & Order spin-off to be set outside of New York City, the first being Law & Order: UK.
