The spirit of a young girl named Elly Lockett (Rebecca Smart) haunts an old hotel in the small town of Waterloo Creek in Australia. Elly died mysteriously in the 19th century and is seeking to discover why she was killed.
Jools recounts his first encounter with Elly, a ghost living in the inn unseen by anyone for over 100 years. Jools later finds an old newspaper from 1837 telling of Elly's disappearance and suspected murder.
The Trevaller family move from city and buy hotel at Waterloo Creek. The O'Farrell family want to get into the hotel to find a treasure. In one of the upstairs rooms, Jools Trevaller meets Elly, a ghost.
