Mork & Mindy is an American sci-fi-based sitcom TV series which was originally broadcast on ABC-TV from 1978 until 1982.
Mork (Robin Williams) is a bumbling alien from the planet Ork sent to Earth in an egg, to study its inhabitants. He will report to his unseen superior, Orson (Ralph James), until reassigned. On Earth, he meets Mindy McConnell (Pam Dawber), an average woman who takes him in and shelters him.
Mork is a member of a race of humanoid life-forms, known as Orkans, from the planet Ork, sent to Earth to observe and report back on human behavior who is befriend by Mindy McConnell, an Earth Girl who helps shelter, guide and teach him about the ways of Earthlings, and especially their emotions.
