Star Trek: Lower Decks is an American adult animated science fiction television series created by Mike McMahan for the streaming service CBS All Access (later rebranded as Paramount+ ). It is the ninth Star Trek series and debuted in 2020 as part of executive producer Alex Kurtzman 's expanded Star Trek Universe.
Boldly going where no one has gone before, Star Trek: Lower Decks follows the underdogs of Starfleet and their crazy adventures traversing the universe, helping civilizations and new life, and keeping up appearances without making total fools of themselves along the way.

Follow the support crew on one of Starfleet's least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos, in 2380. Ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi have to keep up with their duties and their social lives, often while the ship is being rocked by a multitude of sci-fi anomalies.
