Eric in the Land of the Insects, originally called Erik of het klein insectenboek ( English: Erik or the small book of insects) in Dutch, is a 1941 Dutch children's novel by Godfried Bomans. It is widely seen as a children's classic and Bomans' magnum opus.
Erik of het klein insectenboek geldt nog altijd als Bomans' bekendste werk. Bomans was in 1939 na een vrij tumultueuze tijd in Amsterdam naar Nijmegen verhuisd, waar hij zich meer op zijn gemak voelde. Hierdoor kon hij meer innigheid en fantasie in Erik leggen. Het boek sloeg enorm aan: er verschenen binnen een jaar tien drukken van.
