The Knightmare was a lengthy conflict that occurred in a possible future in which Batman 's insurgency fought to overthrow Superman 's regime, after the death of Lois Lane at the hands of Darkseid left Superman susceptible to the Anti-Life Equation, allying himself with the forces of Apokolips and becoming the tyrannical ruler of Earth .
Knightmare may refer to: Knightmare (TV series), a British children's television programme broadcast from 1987 to 1994. Knightmare (1986 video game), a video game released for the MSX in 1986. Shalom: Knightmare III, a follow-up video game released in 1987.

- Batman. A Justice League is only as good as its Batman, and this bleak future's iteration of the team has a doozy. He's got goggles. He's got a rifle. Most of all, he's got a trench coat on over his Batman outfit, so he's low-profile, like when TMNT's Raphael would go to the movies.
