Plot. A prostitute is abandoned by an unknown man at a hospital, dangerously in labor. She dies as the doctors perform a caesarean section, but the child ages rapidly in minutes, soon dead having aged to the likes of a 90-year-old man.

After a newborn baby rapidly ages into an 80-year-old man, Fringe division agent Olivia Dunham and consultants Peter and Walter Bishop investigate. They tie the case to the murders of young women, who have all had their pituitary glands removed.
A woman gives birth to a baby who ages eighty years in just a few minutes. Olivia soon finds connection between the incident and a serial killer she had been chasing. The team investigates another phenomena that may be part of the pattern.
Fortunately, for us episode 102, titled "The Same Old Story," is a very strong episode from start to finish. Written by 'Fringe' creators Abrams, Kurtzman, and Orci(Roberto, not his brother JR) this is the first of many episodes co-written by current showrunner Jeff Pinkner.
