"Chapter Eight: Floofy" is the eighth episode of the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses and aired November 8, 2023. It was written by Jack Burditt and directed by Jason Winer.
Cal begins his Santa training and the elves keep a secret from Scott.
Scott continues with making changes at the North Pole and wants Carol to continue her investigation such as the missing information on Magnus Antas while she herself wants to continue looking for the missing nutcracker. Scott gets visited by Cupid who reveals that he and the other Legendaries are concerned with Scott's choice to pick Cal as his successor as he is clearly unfit to lead and is very liberal in leading Ruby around the North Pole. Scott manages to calm Cupid down, mainly by blackmailing his knowledge over how he met his wife, and Cupid says he will talk to the other Legendaries.
Noel and Edie are hard at work trying to locate the nutcracker themselves, unaware of its fate. Magnus is shown to have embraced modern technology and "befriends" Kris. It is also revealed that his elf-hating gnome sidekick Olga was frozen with him and has been hiding on his back this whole time. Olga insists that he return to his fear mongering roots, but Magnus is satisfied with the new world he is in. Sandra goes to visit La Befana for help in understanding what is happening to her. After seeing her powers manifest for the first time, Befana is convinced that Sandra is a witch, having gained abilities simply by being born in the North Pole.
Carol continues to work with Gary about the theft of the nutcracker and begins to notice that he is almost intentionally dragging his feet on the whole mission. Sandra decides to train under La Befana to master her witch abilities. Noel and Edie give a lecture on Christmas history to Scott, Cal, and Riley where Scott insists that they talk about Magnus Antas. Edie reveals that they use to base their operations in Europe, but humans wanted to take advantage of their magic, so Magnus relocated everyone to the North Pole. Noel reveals that he met Betty in 1197 A.D. and had been together since. Scott is still confused why any info on Magnus is vague.
Carol finally gets Gary to do something, only to see that on his to-do list he has "hide the nutcracker evidence" written and he accidentally admits that he knew about Magnus Antas being trapped as a nutcracker. He refuses to answer any more questions without a lawyer; he admits he represents himself but is ironically disbarred. Carol later tells Scott about what happened to Magnus and that Gary sold the nutcracker to pay off his gambling debts. Sandra later tells Scott about her witch powers and he accepts her newfound abilities. Flashback reveals that Magnus was heavily influenced by the gnomes to turn on his own elves and to acquire a hardened mindset. In the present, Magnus attempts to give children nuts and berries as gifts, but the children keep throwing them away. He later learns from Kris that some people still act distant around Christmas. Magnus announces that he will take back the North Pole and take over the world.
