First of several appearances by actor Jack Albertson as Kay Addison's brother Paul Fenton.

When Paul Henton Kay Addison's brother briefly overhears Wilbur Post humming a tune he believes Wilbur Post Kay and Roger Addison's next-door neighbour came up with the song but Wilbur later hears his horse Mister Ed was humming the song in his office and Ed's barn.

Paul decides he wants Wilbur to finish the song and record a sample, when he hears the recording Wilbur supplies he discovers he likes the person with the deep voice from the recording and asks Wilbur for the name of the singer from the recording sample, Wilbur explains to Paul the singer is shy and refuses to perform in front of people (as it's Mister Ed's deep voice and he's a horse and Paul would have a hard time believing Wilbur that it's his horse singing the song). He explains he wants the person with the deep voice to sing the song but little does he know that the deep voice belongs to Wilbur's horse Mister Ed but Wilbur his owner takes the credit for being the shy singer and songwriter to be the singing voice to protect Ed's secret of talking.
