Home History and Traditions. We opened on Sept. 1, 1858, as a missionary institute, and officially became Susquehanna University in 1895. During the 20th century, we transformed into a four-year university offering a range of bachelor’s degrees for students.
Located near the banks of the beautiful Susquehanna River, our campus is situated on 297 scenic acres in the charming town of Selinsgrove, Pa. Susquehanna University is home to 2,300 undergraduate students and is a safe and welcoming community.
