Ze'ev Jabotinsky MBE (Hebrew: זְאֵב זַ׳בּוֹטִינְסְקִי, romanized: Ze'ev Zhabotinski; born Vladimir Yevgenyevich Zhabotinsky; 17 October 1880 – 3 August 1940) was a Revisionist Zionist leader, author, poet, orator, soldier, and founder of the Jewish Self-Defense Organization in Odessa.
Ze’ev Jabotinsky was a Zionist activist, orator, and writer who founded the Betar Movement. He was also a soldier who founded the Jewish Legion during World War I. Jabotinsky was born on October 17, 1880, as Vladimir into a middle-class Jewish family in the Russian city of Odessa.
Developed by Ze'ev Jabotinsky, this ideology advocated a "revision" of the "practical Zionism" of David Ben-Gurion and Chaim Weizmann which was focused on the settling of Eretz Yisrael (Land of Israel) by independent individuals.
