Jun 4, 2024 · On February 21, 1994, TriStar Television merged with Columbia Pictures Television and became Columbia TriStar Television. Both studios still produced its series independently, but in 1999, TriStar Television was folded into CTT before The Nanny and Mad About You ended on CBS & NBC, but kept its name in credit until 2000 on Early Edition.
Columbia TriStar Television, Inc. (abbreviated as CTT) was an American television production and distribution company that was active from 1994 to 2002.
Columbia TriStar Television was officially incorporated on July 12, 1996. On October 25, 2001, CTT and CTTD were merged into "Columbia TriStar Domestic Television" with CTIT remaining. On September 16, 2002, CTT was reincorporated as " Sony Pictures Television ".
TriStar Television was launched in March 1986 by TriStar Pictures, and remained a joint-venture between Columbia Pictures, CBS, and HBO until it was acquired by Sony, the parent of both Columbia and TriStar.
On October 7, 1991 under Sony Pictures Entertainment, TriStar Television was relaunched by dropping the hyphen (-) after acquiring several television shows from New World Television. On February 21, 1994, TriStar Television merged with CPT and became Columbia TriStar Television.
