Shot at Dawn commemorates the 309 British and Commonwealth soldiers executed after courts-martial for desertion and other capital offences during the First World War. The memorial depicts a blindfolded British soldier, tied to a stake and ready to be shot by a firing squad.

After studying Art and Design at Bournville College of Art in 1985 he has been practising as an artist in many different media. It wasn’t until he returned to study for a degree in 1997, that he made the move into public art.
