Martin Cauchon PC (born 23 August 1962) is a Canadian lawyer and politician in Quebec Canada. He served as a Liberal Cabinet minister in the government of Jean Chrétien. He unsuccessfully ran for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada in 2013, losing to Justin Trudeau. Cauchon worked as a lawyer from 1985 to 1993, and from 2004 to present.

Martin Cauchon, 49, was the MP for Outremont from 1993 to 2004 and served in the cabinet of Jean Chrétien as Minister of Justice from 2002 to 2003. Cauchon was the Liberal candidate in Outremont in the 2011 federal election but was defeated by New Democrat Tom Mulcair .
