The first letter is the year code, the next 3 numbers is the number of the day of the year (out of 365), The next 2 letters are the product code, the last numbers are the serial number. Example: If your number were this: J003MK99999. J = 09. 003= Manufactured 3rd day of the year. MK= Minn Kota.
