May 1, 2024 · When Marnie Was There is my favorite Ghibli movie but I always heard Mary and the Witch's Flower, the follow-up from Marnie director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, wasn't great. Now that I've seen it...it's fun and the animation's as gorgeous as ever, but it feels pretty slight.
May 4, 2024 · Anyone who watched Mary and The Witch's Flower? I felt it was ok in terms of the story and characters-i liked its Ghibli-esque animation style and the music. Although it's not a Ghibli movie, it reall looked like one, though it really lacked the main aspects of a Ghibli movie, such as depth, a cast of unique characters, a good storyline, etc.
