The Forest of Halatte (Forêt d'Halatte, French pronunciation: [fɔʁɛ dalat]) in Picardy is one of the largest remaining blocks of natural old-growth forest in France. Situated in the département of Oise near Senlis and Pont-Sainte-Maxence, it currently embraces 43 square kilometers.
Formerly called Senlis forest, the forest of Halatte, which extends over 4300 ha, takes its name from Mount Alta (140 m), second highest point after Mont Pagnotte (220m). With its "mountains", its tall forests of oaks and beeches, the forest of Halatte is part of the massif of the Three Forests: Halatte, Ermenonville and Chantilly.
