    Huntingdon is a market town in the Huntingdonshire district of Cambridgeshire, England. The town was given its town charter by King John in 1205. It was the county town of the historic county of Huntingdonshire. Oliver Cromwell was born there in 1599 [2] and became one of its Members of Parliament (MP) in 1628.

It is the administrative centre and county town (seat) of Huntingdonshire, and it lies on the north bank of the River Ouse (or Great Ouse).

    • Houghton Mill. The National Trust owns this historic mill in very picturesque scenery on the River Great Ouse to the east of Huntingdon. Houghton Mill has roots going back to the 10th century, but the current building is from the 1600s and was enlarged 200 years later.
