Banagher ( Irish: Beannchar or Beannchar na Sionna) is a town in Ireland, located in the midlands, on the western edge of County Offaly in the province of Leinster, on the banks of the River Shannon. The town had a population of 3,000 at the height of its economic growth in the mid-19th century.

Napoleonic Fortifications were built along the River Shannon by the British to protect against a French invasion. The Martello Tower in Banagher was built around 1812 and is called the Fanesker Tower. It is the only inland Martello tower in Ireland. You can see the Tower from the river or you can walk around it, but you cannot go inside it.
