Klaipėda ( / ˈkleɪpɛdə / CLAY-ped-ə; Lithuanian: [ˈkɫɐɪpʲeːdɐ] ⓘ; German: Memel) is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. [3] It is the third largest city in Lithuania, the fifth largest city in the Baltic States and the capital of Klaipėda County, as well as the only major seaport in the country.
Klaipėda is the only port in Lithuania and its heart is beating together with the sea, with annual summer Sea Festivals and biennial Tall Ships regattas, Sea museum, Sea faculty in the local University, numerous beaches, and major stevedoring companies.
