Landskron Castle (German: Burg Landskron, Slovene: Grad Vajškra) is a medieval hill castle northeast of Villach in the state of Carinthia, Austria. Dating to the early 14th century, the castle ruins are located on a rock cone of the Ossiach Tauern range, at an elevation of 658 metres (2,159 ft) above sea level. [1]

If you are a castle lover, this is an easy Castle to visit. It's a few Euro to park and entrance to the castle is free. It's a steep walk of about 5 minutes to the entrance. The castle is a ruins so there's not a 'full' castle but rather the outside walls and a couple of towers still standing.

Landskron is a ruined castle northeast of Villach in the state of Carinthia. The estates around Lake Ossiach were first mentioned in an 878 deed issued by the East Frankish king Carloman of Bavaria, who granted them to the monastery of Altötting he had established shortly before.
The ruined castle of Burgruine Landskron can be found north-east of Villach, by the Ossiach Tauern mountains on a rock that overshadows the village of St. Andrä by Lake Ossiachersee. Its dramatic setting makes Landskron one of the top things to see in Carinthia .
