Dec 3, 2016 · Scouting Report. Owns good hockey sense and plenty of shutdown capability from the back end. Keeps his game fairly simple and limits mistakes in his own zone. Can provide plenty of physical play, as well. Does not handle the puck with aplomb and will never be confused with a power-play quarterback.
Oct 8, 2020 · June 2017 – Englund performed exactly as advertised in his first professional season in North America playing a strong, defensively-sound game on a weak Binghamton squad. In 69 games he scored just three times and also had seven assists with an ugly minus-18 (however that was actually one of the better marks among d-men for what it’s worth).

Given that he scored a mere 10 points in 69 games for Binghamton last year he’s unlikely to wow anyone offensively, but he’s garnered a reputation for physical play without taking an abundance of penalties.
