February 4, 2015 ·. Growing up in the Mormon church is a world unto itself. And at the age of 16, I starred in a Mormon musical, with beautiful music written by my brother Lex de Azevedo, called "Saturday's Warrior ". It was a massive hit - a total phenomenon. Selling out 5000 seat auditoriums in a heartbeat, everywhere we played.
I am cracking up. Their smiles are in their singing. I cansee the steps. Then there's the heartfelt Sailing On, sung by Cam Clarke. His angst and inner turmoil still rips out my heart. I hear it in his tone and tempo of his voice. It gives my skin goose bumps. The original cast recording of Saturday's Warrior is the best.
