    Dinah, aka Fanny (Fannye) or Frances, Rose Shore was born on February 29, 1916, in Winchester, Tennessee. Her parents were Solomon Aron Shore and Ann Stein.Her father ran a department store and her mother was an opera singer.Fanny, as she was called as a child, had an older sister named Bessie. Bessie was about eight years older than Fanny. Dinah's parents were immigrants from Russia. Their native tongue is listed as Hebrew. Dinah had polio when she was just a child at 18 months old.     Marriages

    Dinah married George Montgomery in 1943. They had a daughter Melissa Ann "Missy" Montgomery, in January 1948. Later the couple adopted a son, named John. George and Dinah were divorced in 1963. Dinah married Maurice Fabian Smith in 1963 and divorced him the following year in 1964.
