The "He" in question is Geoffrey Clarke (Lowell Sherman), a poet who decides it's time to get married. But when he chooses moneyed widow Alice Frayne (Alice Joyce) over lovely - and loving - Monica (Frances Dade), the slighted woman vengefully marries equally moneyed Austin (David Manners).
He Knew Women is a 1930 American pre-Code comedy film directed by Hugh Herbert, from a screenplay by him and William B. Jutte, which was adapted from S. N. Behrman's 1927 play The Second Man. It starred Lowell Sherman and Alice Joyce , in her second to last film role.

The odd thing about this film is that apparently in parts directed by comedian Hugh Herbert.Perhaps that's why this comedy isn't funny? Comes across as a typical risqué Lowell Sherman ladiesman vehicle, which there were a few of in those precode days.
