Recorded at Oslo, Norway’s Bergenfest 2014, Poaching and Meddling is a live performance backed by Massachusetts journeyman Kenneth Maiuri, who hops between keys and drums over the course of the set. The extended version of “Love’s the Only Thing That Shuts Me Up” that appears on this record, heavy on the electric piano, is gut-wrenching.
The 2022 compilation Petals in the Well collects songs that Mulcahy was commissioned to write for films that ultimately went unused. Mark Mulcahy is an American musician. He was the front-man for the New Haven, Connecticut-based band Miracle Legion. The band earned modest renown, especially in their native New England region. Mulcahy soon formed Polaris, a house band for the mid-1990s alternative television series The Adventures of Pete & Pete (1993–1996).
