Several elderly friends and acquaintances in 1950s London are disturbed to receive mysterious telephone calls predicting their impending deaths...
The character work and their interplay is well handled and interesting, especially Maggie Smith as a conniving amoral domestic companion, and there’s some nice rumination on mortality. But the central mystery is actually a damp squib, eventually resolved in perhaps the silliest way it could have been, which rather takes the sting out of things.
