Upper Austria (German: Oberösterreich [ˈoːbɐˌʔøːstɐʁaɪç] ⓘ; Bavarian: Obaöstareich, Czech: Horní Rakousy) is one of the nine states or Länder of Austria. Its capital is Linz. Upper Austria borders Germany and the Czech Republic, as well as the other Austrian states of Lower Austria, Styria, and Salzburg.
The flags of the Austrian states show two (or three) stripes in the main colours of the respective arms. These flags are the state flags and are shown with the coats of arms, although it is common for them to be shown without it.
