  3. Wanda Coleman (November 13, 1946 – November 22, 2013) was an American poet. She was known as "the L.A. Blueswoman" and "the unofficial poet laureate of Los Angeles".

The talent she exhibited in her books Mad Dog Black Lady (1979) and Imagoes (1983) helped to garner her a National Endowment for the Arts grant (1981-82) and a Guggenheim Fellowship for Poetry (1984). In 1987, she published Heavy Daughter Blues. a hybrid collection of short stories and poetry.
