Alaina Huffman plays Tamara Johansen, a series regular in Stargate Universe. She was born in Port Coquitlam, BC as Alaina Kalanj and started her acting career at the age of 13.
She was well known for her role as Maureen Bowers from the short-lived TV series, Painkiller Jane. Other appearances include Dawson's Creek, Smallville, NCIS and CSI: NY. She is currently married and has four children, her third pregnancy was incorporated into the Season 1 script, as her character in Stargate Universe also is pregnant at least until the end of the season finale. Alaina lives in Los Angeles with her family.
