A federal judge Wednesday sentenced "Smallville" actress Allison Mack to three years in prison for her role in a purported self-help group that prosecutors say doubled as a secret sex cult.
Mack was a member of NXIVM, a multi-level marketing company widely described as a cult. In 2018 she was arrested by federal authorities on charges of sex trafficking , sex trafficking conspiracy and forced labor conspiracy related to her involvement in NXIVM and its subgroup, DOS.
Mack was sentenced in June 2021 to three years in prison for her role in NXIVM, a purported self-help group that prosecutors said doubled as a secret sex cult.

NEW YORK (AP) — TV actor Allison Mack, who played a key role in the scandal-ridden, cult-like group NXIVM, was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday on charges she manipulated women into becoming sex slaves for the group’s spiritual leader.
The actor known for her role in Smallville was one of the lead recruiters for the cult. Federal prosecutors had asked for leniency on Mack's behalf, for her cooperation with the case.
