For over 30 years, IHN at Alpha House has partnered with the community to shelter and support children and families experiencing homelessness in our community. During this time, our mission has remained constant and our programs have a single purpose – ending child and family homelessness.

Alpha House provides shelter for families experiencing homelessness. Currently, Alpha House can shelter six families at a time. While in shelter families have a private space of their own, receive 3 meals each day and are provided items for their personal and hygiene needs.
Alpha House was established in 1992 to provide shelter and support to at-risk families and families experiencing homelessness. We serve over 40 families a year in our shelter, and up to 90 families through our Rapid Rehousing Program.

There are many ways to get involved at Alpha House, including: Hosting meals, activity times, and overnights. Donation drives. Volunteer work groups. Family volunteer projects. Internships. Serving on the Gimme Shelter 2024 planning committee.
Alpha House provides families living in cars, in uninhabitable overcrowded settings or other similar desperate situations, temporary, emergency shelter. The six shelter rooms can house up to 24 people at one time.
